Concetta C. Scott is an artist who finds her inspiration in the abstract geometry inherent in subjects, both natural and man-made. Color and light are the other factors that are important in her selection of subjects. The technique in all mediums is the thin layering of colors in order to achieve a richness of color.

After graduating from the Moore College of Art and Design, in Philadelphia, she pursued a successful career in Advertising Design and Illustration in Philadelphia and later in Washington D.C. In Washington she served as the Art Director for all the Woodward & Lothrop Department Stores for several years before resigning to raise her family.

With her children at school, Concetta resumed studies in fine arts and fiber arts, studying with nationally known artists. She also started a teaching career of young people, because she saw a need in that area of education.

Her works in Advertising Design, Fiber Arts and Painting have been accepted in many regional and national juried shows with recognition and awards. Her paintings are in private and corporate collections here and abroad. She recently had a watercolor, Indian Corn, selected for the North Light Art Book Series, Splash 6, Magic of Texture. Some of her large works were shown in the magazine, Elan, October 2000 issue.
