Artist's Statement:
After obtaining a BS in Nursing, MPA and pursuing an active professional career, Gladyne Swartz studied watercolor with Judy Wengrovitz. Additional instruction has been obtained with instructors Carolyn Gawarecki and Ted Butts.
Gladyne's first juried show was the Vienna 25th Anniversary Treasury of Art in 1994. She received an honorable mention for a pastel painting in the McLean 40th Anniversary show juried by Margaret Huddy, July 1995.
She received an honorable mention in the McLean Art Show Spring 1998. Additional juried shows have included the Art League, Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, VA and the Vienna Treasury of Art Show 1995 and 1998.
Gladyne's paintings are in private collections located in California, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Arizona, Colorado and Madras, India.
Five of her paintings are in the Arlington SAIC corporate office and three are in the MRJ corporate office.
